Default are 4 pot calipers and 2 pot calipers interchangeable without changing disks?

Hi everyone, i have a 1994 sti with standard 2 pot calipers, one of which has seized. Ive just found out that a replacement 2 pot is 160 quid and a set of 4 pots are available for 250 quid. What I really need to know is if I can just swap the calipers without changing the disks??

All advice greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!

Short answer no, the discs for the 2 pot calipers are 277mm and the discs needed for 4 pot calipers are 294mm.

You also need to check they will fit under your wheels , the 4 pots dont fit behind the early 16" wheels
