Default classic fmic

i've just bought this fmic for my92 wrx.
was wondering if anyone else had the same kit and if you had any pics i could take a look at before fitting, as there are loads of pipes compared to other kits!
cheers!

i have one fitted to mine as well, i will try and dig some pictures out although it is the same as the one used in this thread,https://www.scoobynet.com/projects-4...d-at-last.html the benefit is you don't have the intercooler hanging out of the bottom of the bumper like on some kits and you don't have to cut the o,s,f inner wing to route the pipes.

cheers mate, was a bit of a pain, pipe work was fairly straight forward. the worst part was trimming bumper supports and the bumper, kept having to offer the bumper up, see where it was fouling, trim some more, offer it back up and so on.
probably took me 6 hours all in all, but i'm not a mechanic and someone with more experience could easily do it quicker.

bought it off ebay, was a specific kit for 92-96. the only fault i have with the kit is no d/v outlet, so i'm going to buy a samco t-piece to fit.

there's a couple on ebay now

a buy it now

Did the FM piping use the hole that the air feed for the induction as i see the induction kit has moved. My K+N is bolted onto the body work. Where you have the induction now does it vibrate????

Looks like a good fitting kit, but, without meaning to sound rude, fitting a no name core would put me right off. How do you know it's any good?

fair question i have had mine mapped with the same intercooler and the mapper seemed more than happy with its performance, the reason i had this style of intercooler is because i don't like them when they hang out the bottom of the bumper.

Question.

I have bee looking on the japsport site and the pick on their site shows the mounting brackets the other way up putting the pipe work coming out the bottom of the unit Is it just me or is it fitted upside down Or can ot be done both ways.

your looking at the wrong one the i and cokes have fitted are for the pre facelift classics and the pipes defo run from the top of the intecooler bot from the bottom, the same as this one.

i would say for the money its good! the only gripe with mine and not saying you will have a problem with yours is the return pipe to the throttle body was not as acuratley bent as it could have been which wasn't a problem as already bought a silicone below pipe to cut it abit and rotate it to fit i also painted mine black for a bit of a stealth look, as for the difference i didn't really drive it much before fitting bigger injectors and having mapped.

yes that was the case with mine although in there group buy thread the question was asked and they said there was a dump valve take off, i couldnt be bothered to take it up with them over it as i left my dump valve off anyway.

it isn't really a pain as i wasn't bothered a about running a dump valve, and if you are worried about not having your dump valve noise, the noise your car will produce with out one will be louder than any dump valve will ever make, the thing you need to remember these kits don't hang out the bottom of your bumper you dont have to hack away at the inner wing to get the boost pipes through and you get a induction kit included as well, and when you can get a t piece for this price it isnt all that bad
p.s don't hold to it that that's the correct size if you are not sure i will check for you.

i did cut out a little bit of the inner wing to get the piping through. as for the induction kit mine was already in a similar position, only had to undo the clips and twist it slightly so that it cleared (just) the pipe work.
