help car wont start

Default help car wont start

hi

yesterday while i was down at scooby shoot out my car cut out after 4 laps of the handling circut and would not start. when i turn the ignition on i cant hear the fuel pump as i could before so disconected the fuel pipe after the fuel filter put the ignition on and there was no fuel coming through the pipe so today i have changed the fuel pump and still no fuel getting through

any ideas?

hi could it be your fuel pump relay??

could you explain what and where that is and i will have a look im a novice when it comes to cars

It could be the fuel pump which is in the tank. There is a access cover under the the boot carpet near the back seat on the drivers side also check the wiring under the back seat as the plugs for the pump sometimes melt and cause problems.

I've also had a problem where it was the pump assembly some thing to do with the wiring within the tank, I swapped the assembly for a different one with the existing pump and that solved the problem.

Or as already suggested relay or fuse.

thanks for the replys

i took the fuel pump out of the tank and changed it and checked the wireing but still no luck so its been collected on a trailer by alyn at as performance and i should find out what the problem is soon enough
