Default Do-luck panel filter fitted last sat engine malfunction light came on this morning!

As stated above i fitted this filter 3 days ago and everythings been ok. started car up this morning and started to drive to work and car just didnt want to move and i noticed the engine malfunction light was on. I drove a bit further and still no power...could it have gone into limp mode? decided to stop car and check all fluid levels which were ok and decided to drive home. car started to perform properly again on way home but the malfunction light was still on. I have just put the oem filter back in and the lights gone off.
Can any of you guys please enlighten me and tell me whats going on?
is the ok now?

my car is 2006 sti hawkeye

Many thanks

Rich

Crap filter basically, its probably messing your air/fuel ratio up, thats why I stick to good air filters

You would be better off with an OE filter, rather than one of those Dog-Muck things.
