MY99/00 (from Sep 98) can have the std ECU remapped via EcuTeK software (as well as Open Source).
If you are mapping your ECU for the first time by EcuTeK you have to pay the registered EcuTeK dealer/mapper a nominal licence fee, as well as the mapping costs, which typically totals over £600.
Subsequent maps will cost c.£150-400 - depending on whether just a tweak, or more - because the ECU will have already been 'unlocked' on the very first map.

Simtek is MAFless (good!) and can have 2 full independent maps too (its main USPs). Plus it's a modern, well capable ECU to boot.
You're looking at around a £grand supplied/fitted/mapped (but then you can sell your OEM ECU and MAF to get a small proportion of cash back lol).

lol USP = unique selling point/s. Ignore that.
ECU has the facility/memory to save 2 fully in-car switchable maps e.g. one for, say, 95 RON to save cash and/or when you can't find a V-Power/Tesco Momentum garage. The other for V-Power... or VP + Meth... or VP + E85, etc etc etc. Comprende?

Obviously you can get mapped on what you want to - even 95 RON - just that you won't optimise the amount of ign timing adv. and/or target boost you can run, thus not realise potential max power/torque.

Justin: You do not need a new map sensor.
You do not need an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator.
Your car has 440cc injectors as standard as indicated above and on the standard FPR these will get you somewhere between 320 and 330 bhp.
An FPR will increase the range of the injectors by a small amount say 20 bhp as an absolute max, however, if you plan to run beyond the range of the OE injectors and FPR you would be best to go for 550cc injectors which on the OE FPR will take you to just short of 400 bhp which is way beyond the range of your turbo.
Ecutek remap £440 plus VAT or Simtek supplied and fitted £940 plus VAT.
