WRX or STI
Hey Guys,
Looking for a bit of help, I have my Audi A4 on PH at the moment and am looking for an impreza.
Ive had a lot of offers for straight swaps but narrowed it down to 2.
One is a 2003 wrx sti PPP in silver, Stunning car with 85k miles on her (He's Not sure if clutch has been replaced yet, i thought it would have been changed by this stage in its life??)
The other is a 2003 WRX with the PPP also in silver, Stunning car (mint) with 69k miles on her, Clutch was replaced at 60k.
Both have FSSH and are in immaculate condition.
Not sure which one to go for (STI is tempting).
Any suggestions?
Cheers Danny.

I was advised that the non-sti PPP will have 15% cheaper running costs through its life due to individual part costs at servicing etc. As for the performance, unless you're happy risking your license, I can't imagine you'd notice a huge realworld difference on-road??

If you're not fussed go for the cheaper option.
If you want the best experience the STi is the one to go for. It will have around 40bhp more to start with plus a generally better set up for 'enthusiastic' driving.
As said, you're unlikely to notice a huge difference in the real world, but Subaru didn't make the STi to be the same as the WRX.
Depends on your priorities.

Ok Thanks for the input guys.
I have only owned classics (A few STI's aswell), so not too clued up about the later models.
Only thing im thinking with the sti is the mileage would be around 94k after a year or so (Unless i have to rebuild it).
Both are valued the same (Straight swap) only difference being the mileage and ones sti.
Is there anything to watch for with either of these or are they much the same as classics?
Cheers Danny

I agree with others as to road use there would not be a lot of difference
It depends what your plans are for the future though, if you plan on making performance upgrades then the STI stands you in better stead IMO.
I wouldn't get to bogged down on a clutch replacement on which car you prefer, how about test drives to see which you prefer?

Cheers
