Default need a new battery, which one?

Hi, i need a new battery really, and wouldn't mind fitting a lighter one, to keep with the the other lightweight mods on the car.
What would you fit? I've seen the Odyssey ones, but i run a tracker, and don't use it every day, sometimes not every week, so worried it won't hold charge long enough.

Cheers, Mit

if you want the best, then an optima redtop. you'll need a 35r, about double the cost of a regular battery though at about £160.

Will the redtop hold charge with the tracker?

Just looked at the redtop, it's no lighter than a standard battery is it?

It is supposed to have a longer 'life' i.e. holds charge longer when not used, although you are right about the weight. If it's just light weight you are after, then this one is about half the weight of a regular battery, although 8kg is not going to make a massive difference really to the overall weight of the car. http://shop.edoperformance.co.uk/bra...ry-p-9357.html

No, but all the little weight saving bits n bobs has shed quite a lot. That carbon one looks nice, a bit pricey mind. I'll have to have a think, see what i can find.

Cheers.

mit, why not have you cake and eat it, by getting a small batt like the Odyssey... But also buying a solar panel batt charger that you can connect direct to the battery when the car's sitting for longer than normal periods, when at home?

Good idea, i do like the idea of the Odyssey and it's light weight. I guess i could put the solar panel on the dash. I'll have a look for one!

Cheers.

Motocare, can you post up a list of prices vs. Amp hours for the various small batteries you stock?

lol I thought you meant you had the batteries.

But that info is all good too. Would the lowest 1.5W solar charger be able to give life to a really dead battery?
