Default Wrapping exhaust

Just want to find out whether its worth wrapping the whole exhaust right to the back box?

Pros Cons etc.

I mean we try and get the cold air in, why not try and expel the hot gases quicker????

no point mate as the only reason to wrap up in the engine bay is to stop heat soak as the intercooler is up top.cost alot to wrap the whole thing as well

Ok, just thought might be an idea to try and keep things moving and hot on exhaust side.

this isn't true.yes it helps to wrap the headers and down pipe in relation to heat soak but it also keeps the heat inside the exhaust which speeds up the gases and lets them flow quicker.the quicker the gases cool the slower they move.

this is why i am going to do mine as i have no heat sheild on my turbo and need to wrap stuff up asap, So i have just ordered some to try on the downpipe and see if it does the job, WILL ALSO NEED a jacket for the turbo but as it is a td04 and i want to go vf35 there is no point buying a jacket yet

I have wrapped headers up pipe and down pipe already.

A jacket is on my turbo as well.

I will wrap the whole exhaust then.

Want to squeeze as much as possible out of TD04 h

What makes it so pointless though.
Any gain is better then no gain.
As a saying goes every little helps

There is no point wrapping the exhaust after the downpipe, particularly if you already have an adequate diameter exhaust.
I did wrap a complete exhaust once but that was to cut down noise, which it did not do, so I wasted two or three rolls of exhaust wrap for no gain.
Looking under your bonnet it will be possible to identify items of far higher priority for attention long before you think about wrapping the whole exhaust.
