Default blitz nur spec r question

my mate and me both have nur specs and are considering making it a genuine 3" straight through and doing away with the 2.5 flanges.is it worth doing as i think it is as 3" straight through has got to flow better than the original?has anyone done this already?

Depends what power you want really? But it wouldn't hurt doing it. I'm running 430bhp, and still have a 2.5" centre section.

I will be going to a full 3" system though very soon!!

when i spoke to jgm he had a 2.5" exhaust and made 416 bhp.when he changed it to a 3" it made 451 bhp with the same mods.thats why i was thinking of taking out the only piece of my exhaust thats 2.5".also thought it would make it a little bit louder

Yeah, have had the 2.5 bit removed from the nurspec.
Only cost £30 all in so no big deal with expence.
Havent got any figures yet though with the difference.

i cant see how a 2.5 inch piece which is only about 6 inches long where the down pipe joins the center section, will make any noticeable difference in performance or alter the noise level.i would also like some info on this from anyone who has done this mod to a full 3" nur spec exhaust,or from anyone who knows if converting this small section of 2.5" pipe to 3" will make any difference at all.

That's exactly what I thought mate.3" straight through has go to be better than with a narrow bit in the middle

mine went from 420-445 by doing this.If you look at the 2.5"flange it is to fit into a 2.5" centre so the actual bit is nearer 2.25".A very worthwhile change in my opinion..
