No way of telling i don't think mate. It's chipped for an early sti wagon on a TD05 (a quick search shows??). TBH, i'd bin it as an unknown entity and therefor a possible engine eater

Looks like a Z4 ECU going by chip codes, but only a newbie when it comes to ECU's tbh.

I bought it off of a member on here not had any known problems with it and not got any issues, needed one because I put the td05 on, would have just liked to have known which one it is..

You are correct as far as the 2 larger chips go (can't see the others) and they are different No.'s from the U8 chips. Don't know how effective/trustworthy this methord is though

Some sort of upgrade/conversion chip. Unidentifiable, ergo, unknown boost pressures, bhp, but more worrying, unknown AFR's which could easily det your engine.

Does the seller have no information on it for you

have not asked the seller, thought others may have known, I do see your point as I have not got a way to check afr's so unknown on that front..

his mailbox is full.

Seems to run nicely though but without a afr you cant quite tell.
Is there a guage for this that can be purchased, the car came with a cheap boost gauge that does need changing eventually boosts to just over 10 psi then drops off slightly but doesnt calibrate itself to 0 exactly.

So your running a WRX Wagon with a TD05 fitted?

To check the AFR's properly you need a wideband unit or a spin on a RR.

It doesn't sound like it's running any more than stock with those figures.

1C, 3B, V9, V5 , V9, 4B, WRX WAGONS-
10.55PSI (0.7BAR) DROPPING TO 6.84PSI (0.5BAR)
STARTS TO DROP @ 5000RPM–
FUEL CUT 13.79PSI (0.95BAR).

Not to sure on this one, so maybe you or someone can confirm.

As you are running the TD05, can you not rejoin the J1 and run the OE map. If it is a Z4 then it will give you better gains than the 'chip'.

edit; I've got one of these fitted, not exact, but once you know you AFR's are good and you get use to how this one acts then it's good enough to keep an eye out for any changes.

With the yellow connectors towards you, you have the vertical piece of board, look just to the right of it, on the board you will see written J1 and the resistor should be cut.

It could also of been totally removed, in which case you will need to be handy with an iron

Looking at the pic ive got it seems as though the j1 is no longer there could i solder one on from my original ecu and would this then run it back as a standard ecu..

Yeah, can do. It doesn't have to be a resistor, mine was done by Scott.T and he put a jumper on mine

Some people run a wire from each point to a switch so they can run 2 maps. So the resistor is not really important.

Sorry Keith Inbox is indeed full (of crap ).

ECU is from my V2 555 STi Wagon, the chip is a standard STi chip OEM factory. GF8STi is a bit of a giveaway lol

You should know this already tbh ?

It is boosting over 10 psi but not by far but it is a cheap incorrect gauge that does not start at 0psi
