radiator???????????????

Default radiator???????????????

hi all new to this so bear with me. right i have a subaru impreza turbo year 2000 with a crached radiator been and got a new one from euro car and it has 2 connections on side which mine has not the people at euro car a shores me this is the correct radiator and i do not need to use these connections is this right ?????????

What are you supposed to do with them, then?

Mine is a 98 car. It has two large hoses, one top offside, one bottom, nearside, and a small hose attached close to the top one.

hi thats what i thought i have tried blowing thro one of the connections and putting my finger on and off it and when my finger is over it i cant blow thro its like there is a seprate bit in the rad i have tried putting 2 pics on one of old rad and one of new one but carnt figer out how to do it. your rad sounds the same as my old one.

ISTR remember when I replaced my rad, there were some bits that looked like pipe connections but were just blanks. Try poking a piece of wire into them. They may be blocked off and just there to worry you.

hi john thanx for that just tries putting some wire througt and i can thread it between the 2 connections on side but dont think it goes into the main radiator chamber.

Sounds like an integral oil cooler, possibly for an automatic.

hi trogg thanx for your reply just looked on google images and yes the auto rad looks like the one i got would this be ok to fit on my manual one then do you think?

hi mate the one you got now is for an auto i have the same just put a hose from one to the other or you can get a bung that screws into them ive just put a hose from one to the other works fine?

I wouldn't have thought you'd need to do anything to the 'spare' outlets, they are for oil to go in and out of, rather than for coolant to go in and out of, aren't they?
