What MY and model car do you have?
What supporting mods?
How much power are you looking to get?

Answers to these questions should get the ball rolling with suggestions for suitable turbos

Hybrid turbo's use parts from different turbos, hence hybrids - they use the exhaust and compressor wheels and housings from different turbos in the range, or even custom ones. e.g. TD05 turbo with a TD06 turbo compressor wheel = TD05/06 or TD05 20G, I think.
Aiming to get high air flow / high boost and so power with minimum lag.

The Andy Forrest web site has a range of turbos / hybris turbos with estimated potential power, worth a look.

I have a TD04
MY 2002 Bugeye
aftermarket exhaust and cold air Induction kit (thats All) running at 256 BHP
was told that a remap with a hybrid Turbo will give good figures dont want to go mad with this car so want a low cost upgrade, i'll be using the car a lot.
so dont want to mega upgrade due to petrol cost.

just pick up a used vf35 is cheaper than a hybrid and with sti injectors and remap will be good choice. Or a cheaper option is just decat or sportscat and remap on what you have. Will still give good results.

A 2nd hand VF35 from a New Age STi would be great option for your car and its OEM hardware. 320-330bhp after a remap (350 odd possible, if you get lucky). Great VFM turbo.

The TD04 would run out before 300 bhp, the hybrid TD04 ( around £400 exchange ? ) goes up to 320 bhp ish.

As the guys said above, look at other OEM turbos off these cars as they may well be better options for lower cost.
I'm not familiar with VF35's so can't comment, but they sound fine and 2nd hand should be cheaper!

Of course all would need a remap, ECUTek around £600.

you can get map done for 350, would go for a vf35 as stated above and u will need pink injectors too, ask the mapper to map it nice and safe and u will have nothing to worry about. i used Duncan for my map he is on here as dynamix ... drop him a pm he will help u out no end

Mate TD04 hybrid is the nuts. Lag is minimal, good torque figures, mine is running 300bhp with 310 torque, at 1.2 bar, its running more now, as to when I had it mapped it was so hot. And I know its nearly true figures as it was at surrey rollers.

Up to you though, i went for fast as **** spool. I did add a 3inch exhaust system, last a bit of spool but gained mid range. So all good. Love it now.

Yes, I'm led to believe the SC36 and SC40 Billets are perfect on the 2.0L with appropriate supp. mods.

Will see what they say after its been on the rollers, just getting a set of headers ported, waiting on a vortex back box and a typhoon inner wing induction kit so will need a map tweek anyways so may throw a bigger turbo it it. I only got a wrx so i only want take her to about 370 bhp as i think i could get away with that power level if i treat her with mercy. if she blows i will but a sti engine and box in, just saving for a old school 911 project so would rather not blow all my cash right now
