Default sumps

can any tel me if the subaru sump has a gasket oris it just the bolts and a sealent use as i have a very very slight leak and need to get this sort oh and also one of my rocker covers is slighty leaking can you by the gasket for these in singles, oh and if it is sealent how long do you leave it to dry for before filling and driving cheers

Yes you can buy a gasket in singles, i changed the washers too as the old ones at the bottom were leaking oil. use good quality stuff like dirko high tempeature sealer you can get it at any motor factors. I left mine for 2 hours before driving it and its fine.

so the sump it selfs deos not have agasket just bolts and sealent

The sump has no gasket, as standard - You just use threebond (or similar) sealant to seal it to the block.

There is a GroupN cork gasket available if you want to use one, although I don't have the Part Number to hand.

cheers guys but its not the sump or the rockers as i clean it off a week ago andhave just had the car up on a ramp and there is no oil signs any where so i have look closer around the car and sen the my turbo induction pipe has a hole in it and the its come from there slowy dripping down the side of the rocker gasket and has proballybeen split every since i put my 20g on so im going to double check next wekk and keep a close eye on

Is it best to go the belts 'n' braces route - threebond AND cork gasket?

No!! I've always used Three bond and its always been spot on.

If using a gasket then use it ONLY on its own.
