Post help pls fellas

hi people
right got a hesertation problem STILL its between 2-4000rpm but when i put my foot down it seams to be fine its like a flat spot under light throttle. ive changed the m.a.f and put a new set of plugs in today cheacked all the pipes coming from the maf etc (fine) plug leads fine.
i dont know if i could be the exhaust pipe with a hole in somewhere as when i drive the car hard the problem goes. i just dont know what else could corse this problem. i am thinking about buying a diagnostic reader thing are these expensive tho and what kind should i buy.
thank you all for thaking the time to help me with this subject

Have you ever tried resetting the ECU or checking to see if you're getting any error codes coming up?? This is something you can do yourself without the aid of diagnostic kit.

could just get the dealer to diagnose it for you as not all problems give codes and its only around £40

No need to spend money on diagnostic kit when you can check it manually yourself by connecting the black and green conectors underneath the dash, just by the steering column and reading the pulses given off by the engine check light.
