Im after buying a MY2001 Bug wrx, but after putting on the decat he told me the engine management light is on because of the decat (code reader brings up bank 2 emissions failure) ???
can the lambda be cut out, ive never had code problems with a decat, any thoughts!!

It will need mapped out mate, any decent mapper will be able to switch it off. You dont usually get it on the clasic but the newer cars are a bit more sensitive.

you can buy a CEL FIX mate thats what i have on mine and works fine there are 2 type a resistor type or a bolt type that remove the sensor from the main gas flow giving lower readings (the later i have on my bug)

 

or as above if your getting a remap (which is advised after getting a decat to remove over boost/boost cut) the CEL can be perminently removed
