Can anyone please help shed some light on a strange noise which has developed on my Car,
The noise in question on start up and idle sounds like someone blowing over a milk bottle it only happens on idle for approx 1min and then goes.
Another noise when the car is acceleratng up to apprx 3k rpm sounds like a belt whistle/howl,
It developed approx 6-8months ago and is really annoying. i have had cam belts snap on me before with very expensive results so any noise like these make me alittle nervous

Ok if it is my dump valve how do i check it, and will this be causing the idle and the low rpm noise??

Got me there m8. Don't know how you'd check it. Probably best to get it checked at a scooby dealer, or any techie that knows turbos. However I must say that usually, the blowing over a bottle noise is usually the dump valve leaking, going off what I've read on here a number of times for that symptom.

If you don't get time to look at it before the 14th then come along to the meet J is orgainsing (see northern meets) and we could nick some bits off other cars to test yours.
