Default Best turbo upgrade for a JDM STi? Running a VF37 remapped..

Hi

my brother is wanting a bit more power than his 340/340 mapped VF37.

what twin scroll turbo is a good upgrade?

he's not wanting big bhp.. he'll be happy with near 400.. max 450bhp..

just dont seem to be many options..

cheers

if he wants to run close to 450 then he might aswell lose the headers put some after Market ones and just buy a second hand turbo. for that kind of money you might aswell add a bit more and go rotated lol

Twin scroll or twin entry

I've been asking various companies, LP being one of them, for a twin scroll** upgrade since 2005 with no joy.

**Straight bolt on replacement for VF36/37

I have a VF37 garret hybrid with 76mm compressor housing cover etc. This was done by Turbo Dynamics and has sat in a box and has 0 miles and never fitted to car. Need £900 for it. pm me if interested.

i would think about 380-385 area. Its a full hybrid garret conversion by TD..

A td05 18g and 20g are hybrid converions from original 16g.

I,ve just had my 05 jdm sti remapped because I wanted to revert back to the standard airbox after having idle issues with the induction kit. On a warm clammy day the car made 332 BHP and 350LBS/FOOT.This was with a full decat and 1.4 bar boost. If I wanted more power I,d go for Martyns choice, the SC 46 Steve.

NEVER change the OE twinscroll headers if you have them to begin with. They are great bits of kit and I have not had any problems for over 41k miles, with 16+k being at over 500bhp.

Just get a twin to single scroll up-pipe like I have on the Spec C, which enables you to run a single scroll standard position turbo on the OE twinscroll headers.
