TF035 is smaller than a TD04. What you've been told is incorrect. There is a difference, and these turbos have never been factory fitment on the Impreza. The one you've got is probably from a Forester.

That's incorrect Butty. There's no such thing as a "TD035". As per my earlier post, the smaller turbo fitted to the Forester is called a TF035 - and that, as the picture demonstrates, is what Auto Sparky has got.

Good result, glad the seller's played it with a straight bat. And there is one turbo that will fit any car. The trouble is that it would be the wrong turbo for virtually all of them.

Drat - I've been splitpin'd.
I once owned a Forester and the turbo was always refered to as a TD035 - I wonder why

If it really was fitted to an Impreza, I bet the owner was puzzled by its performance.

+1

That's what I thought! Proportionally, it looks akin to a 16g next to a 20g!

Default Manifold

Chaps, this thread maybe dead but is the inlet and outlet manifold the same fitment?
I mean is it really possible to just bolt a TF035 where a TD04 belongs?

Default Need help on similar issue?!

I have a 08 Wrx Impreza, had a nasty knock so I had a shop replace the 2.5l with the 2.0l. They left the original turbo on because it didn’t require any exhaust or piping work. Now that turbo went on me, it’s a TF035HM. What turbo set up should I go with so I don’t need a tune?
