Default Clunking from brakes

Just had front disc's and pads changed, now when I reverse and put my brakes on there is a clunking from the front left wheel, what could it be? Thanks

yeh as above. i found from experience that a slightly loose pad is better than a tight one as the pistons are more free to move back and forth

thanks for the reply, I will check with the garage, will it damage or wear the pad unevenly? it's only when reversing so not too worried

it would only be in reverse as the pad gets dragged in the opposite direction thus lifting and making the noise,id check that they put your stainless shims back in as it sound like they havent which would leave the pad sloppy in the jaw mate

Are the shimms essential then?

their put there because the jaw rusts and the stainless shime doesnt allowing the pad to move freely unlike sat on the steel jaw which retains the pads, the slack in the pad/jaw is there to allow the shime to fit.
