Default cold start missfire help anyone!!!!!!

hi my 96 wrx has recently started to missfire when cold from starting
like i say you start it ok as normal then it seems to rev low,on any throttle application it misses for a sec then all is fine, also all is ok at speed and when warm, just seems to miss when revving from idle
any ideas before i run it into the garage?

mine did this and was cured when i changed from tesco 99 to optimax.
it has done it on optimax once or twice. its to do with the amount of ethanol in the fuel i think. too much is bad for cold starts and tescos use more than optimax.

could be lots of things, you'll just have to write a list and go through them one by one

Could be the plugs needing changing. Mine does it due to running a GEMS ECU but if it gets worse I change the plugs which improves it decently.

if i was you i'd change the maf first, my old car messed about when cold and then i changed the maf and it was 100% better. may not be the same but worth a try first.
