I own a 2002 WRX UK Spec and i am having a problem finding out whats wrong the girl....
I think its the alternator belt as it squeeks like mad when i do a full lock turn both left and right, the belt also almosts stops spinning.I have tried to tighten the belt but still the problem occurs..I would appreciate any advice please before i spend some hard earned cash at the local garage>>>My mechanic friend says i could need a new power steering pump but the steering feels normal???????

Feel the grooves of the belt, with the keys out obviously. If your belt is past its sell by date, itll squeak and the steering will judder. Change the belt, £10 for the belt, 10-15 mins in a garage. Simples.

alright fella it sounds like the bearings gone tight on the pump,u could try abit of wd40 directly onto the shaft of the pump and c if it loosens up but uf not it wouldnt be that dear for asecondhand unit.Ryan
