Default bhp at flywheel or wheels?

hi, when people refer to there bhp is it usual to quote figure at engine/flywheel or at hubs? also do manufacturers do the same? thanks

Generally speaking manufacturers quote at the flywheel figures. Generally on scoobynet they will mention At the flywheel also. Some may refer to the Wheel Horsepower, but usually explain when they do

My usual finding is that people state the BHP level not the Flywheel... this is probably because dyno places usually only give you a bhp level as it's higher and therefor looks better, not sure what the percentage loss is on AWD cars but i always try to go from the flywheel power (or at the wheels) as that's most realistic in real world environment.

usually flywheel figures are used by manufactures.
dyno machines will calculate both.
flywheel is the general one to use down the pub.
