Smoking after a track day HELP please
Did a track day, car never missed a beat, drove 50miles home all good, went out in car about an hour later and started smoking!?
Car is always warmed up and cooled down correctly.
Mainly notice it on over run and off boost, blue smoke.
No coolant or oil loss and correct levels, catch tank not full, oil changes every 1000miles, forged engine, metal head gaskets about 2 years old, all cylinders are 125psi compression checked, all 4 spark plugs not clogged and in good colour and condition, no oil at all in air intake and after turbo into inlet manifold, no play in turbine, with oil cap off and car running minimal gases escape through.
What do people think???
Turbo, valve seals, pistion rings etc?
Cheers

isnt that tell tale sign of turbo seals
if it smoked alot on start up especially mornings i would have said stem seals
check your ic pipes for excess oil

Isn't it that on overrun the vacum pressure changes and pulls the turbines towards the engine and if the seals are warm oil passes the seals and burns off producing blue smoke?

Im going to go down turbo route i think, notice on gear changes and over run, on boost dont see any smoke!? As above its when the air pressures changes so thinkin turbo. No smoke on start up. Now doesnt boost above 14psi and will not at all? Usually runs and holds easy 20psi. Difficult how to explain, its like hitting some sort of limiter, but not boost cut as have programmable ecu and use EBC. Could this point to the turbo aswell?

After a run come to a stop and leave to idle for 5 mins. Then rev the engine -- any blue smoke will invariably mean the turbo's oil seals or thrust bearing are on the way out.
If blue smoke emits while idling (before doing the turbo test), then suspect piston rings or valve guides.

Removed turbo, when hold each end of turbine it has excessive end to end movemnt. Looks likes bearings have gone, can also slight scraping marks on inlet compressor housing. Suppose you get for what you pay for. Have now ordered one from Andy Forrest so cant wait to get it and have power again! Lol
