Hey guys, I want to upgrade my ecu in my V4 sti 1997, i know you cant re-map the original ecu on this age and want to know what are my options? been looking at an apexi power fc, just want to know any other options avalible without breaking the bank! also where the best place (cheapest!) is to but the apexi!

i also have the apexi power fc with commander cost me £350, just not had it fitted and mapped yet but simon from jgm will do it for 250+vat, imho it is a great bit of kit and wiht the commander you can see what is going on under the hood too.

The cheapest options for the MY97/98 are indeed Apexi PFC and Simtek. Apexi used to be good value but is around £600-800 "brand new" (inc. the groovy Commander). Even 2nd hand they seem to fetch north of £500-600 these days.

The Simtek is around a £grand fitted/mapped, so may be worthwhile thinking of this great bit of kit.....?

yeah i spoke to simon from jgm today and i think the apex is the one to go for , just a matter of finding one for the right price! seen them on ebay but there going for £650 at best??
