hi im new, wrx 94 owner 300 bhp?
hi there im new this seems a great site to get some good info on these cars i bought the subaru last week and confess to know nothing about them
it is a 1994 wrx
modifications are
tdo5 turbo
walbora fuel pump
3 inch exhaust system
decat
my question is whats next id like 300 bhp at the flywheel but id just like more info on how to get this safely.
can i just have a remap or do i need a aftermarket ecu?
its still running the standard boost contoller although it does hit boost cut so i think my restrictor pill is missing after reading up on here.
where is the place to get these restrictor pills?
im in the birmingham are so any recommended scooby tuners would be great!
many thanks

the only thing i would change from what you slready have are tdo5 for a vf35 turbo but the td05 will see 300hp, Get some STI injectors in as well and a remap which your own will be ok,
Ths then should see you good for 300hp

His TD05H 16g is a 340+ turbo, as is the VF35, so nothing really to be gained in doing that, aside from a little better spool and the fact the 35 is a newer turbo. Not worth the expense/hassle in swapping a to a 35, IMO.
On existing hardware, OP will make c.280bhp/280lb ft - the small TMIC and 380cc injectors are limiting.
But OP willl need ESL Live or Simtek ECU (or Apexi Power FC - but now expensive etc.) for mapping.
If OP was to fit a FMIC - or a later OEM TMIC (bit of a hassle to do on early cars) - then the 380cc should just about allow 300bhp after the remap...

ok thats great so to be completly safe perhaps injectors and a bigger tmic with the remap
so the original ecu can be remaped up to 280 bhp?
then aftermarket ecu for anything after that?
cheers

No, you need an aftermarket ECU for any remapping -- you can't alter fueling/ign. timing/boost, etc. on std one.
If you fit a FMIC (or later bigger TMIC - good luck! ), 550cc injectors, cone filter, later MAP sensor (and obviously the mappable ECU), then you should achieve c.340+... if everything is in good health, etc...
It should be mentioned that anything beyond 300bhp/300lb ft (certainly around 350) could mean gearbox is on borrowed time though...............

oh ok ill take a look at mapable ecus then etc i dont think id go much over 300 bhp because as you say other things will break i guess.
ive came from the 200 sx world where you could get your standard ecu remaped or you could get a generic chip im assuming these are not recommended for the subarus?
