gearbox????
hi guys,
blew a hole in my gbox last week so need a replacment as cheap and as quick as possible.
question is what gbox?
1. what code boxes came on a 93 wrx manual?
2. where do i find the code location?
3. and how much do they go for?
4. is there a code on diffs to match them up?
dont wana get the wrong 1 as my car is for drag and track days and is all about 0-60, so dont wana end up with taller gears?
any help would be much appreciated, many thanks dave

you gearbox code is on the bell housing by the starter motor on the nsf of the car,
prices for gearbox's can vary from £100 to £400+ (then there is gearboxes from othere models which may cost more) there is no codes on the rear diff, if you get a gearbox from a later car make sure that you get the rear diff to match.

If your doing drag days with a standard 93 wrx gearbox, it wont be long till you need another and another and another, why not upgrade it to 6 speed, or ppg if its for drag and track. Standard wrx gearbox = sh1te...

These sites tell you the box codes and ratios for your car. Just make sure that you get the right code and your box in your car hasnt been changed in the past. Your code should be TY752VB3AA

http://spda-online.ca/modules/tinyco...ite/tc_28.html
Price wise i got a second hand one for my 1995 wrx off ebay for £180. From a salvage dealer its around £400. You can also get your own box reconed that is £650+ vat from API when i was looking around.
With the diff make sure the box you get is the same ratio as your current box or you will have to change the diff to match the box you put in.
Hope this helps.
