Default Draining the fuel tank

is there any easy way to do this? iv got half a tank of 2 year old v-power i think will have lost its octane..

i would disconnect the inlet pipe on fuel filter and connect to a container then run a live wire to the live on fuel pump . this will drain and leave about a litre in tank at best , then refill with fresh

Hi,
I had this problem as I just bought a 96 Type RA that has been sitting in the previous owners drive for 3 years!!!

I drained the tank which was over 3/4 full in the same way that wrighty has explained. When I was done I felt all god about it.!!!

My brother turned up and gave me an ear full. He is a mechanic and he told me that I could have poured in an additive!!! A bit late to ask him right now but I think it must be what 53WRX is talking about!!!

on the newage pretty sure there is drain plug in the centre of the tank underneath have you checked this ? not 100% but sure there is

Two of my cars have a switched live feed to the fuel pump. This allows me to swap fuels over easily when required. I disconnect at the fuel filter and put a hose over the feed pipe direct to a 25 litre plastic container.
The other advantage is that I have an additional anti theft device.

I would have thought the easiest way is to disconnect the fuel return after the fpr and run a hose to a container. Then run the engine on idle until it runs out of fuel. Pour some booster in if you want also.
