Hi, everyone

My intercooler has seen better days. I was wondering what uprated ones, if any are available. (Its a my 95 wrx wagon) so do i just buy a better condition standard one? or as above any uprated ones available??

you have a few options.

anything is better other than the original slanted type

you can fit with not too much modding upto around 2003 wrx TMIC and the matching undertray for it,you will need to either blank off the d/v port or use it/modify it to suit.

then theres the STI route which involves a bit more work, shortening of the plastic clutch reservoir bottle for it too fit

both if you want a quiet drive will require some bulkhead manipulation, the lip at the bak of the TMIC etc, it can hit/knock when driving as its bigger than the standard etc, depends how fussy you are, i was, as i hated the kadunk each time i changed gear as the engine moved

cheers

I have one for sale... as per the picture. Make me an offer if you want it.

It is an APS dual entry top mount.

I also have an APS HPA/99 high flow air cleaner. Takes cold air from the inner wing... It all looks like this installed:

You might need the brackets that the later intercooler is attatched to as yours is the slanty type, but after that deadeasy job - 2 x jubilee clips for the hose onto the throttle body, disconect recirc pipe off intercooler,an 2 x mounting screws.thats it.

For your heater matrix you could try K-Seal from Kalimex. Works wonders on radiators (I have also used it to successfully stop an HG leak on an Astra but it didn't fix HG on Scooby)

+1 What midnight said.

What does everyone think a fair price would be for the IC? Everything in the top photo included.

you would have to get a blanking plate for the one for sale in this thread, the 95 engine has the idle control valve in the way where the d/v is on that i/c

you`ll also need to buy a different y piece connection for underneath, from samco etc to accomodate your dumpvalve/recirc on the 95 setup, they are about £40

and yes, the mounting brackets from a later car as well

not sure on price, around £40-£50 i would guess

the rubber part that connects to the y piece underneath is different on the 95-96 cars as the dump valve is seperate from the intercooler, as you see in the pic provided on this thread, the later type bolt to the intercooler, the 95 has an extra bit of piping on it to allow for the dump vale/recirc valve

F*ck off mate. You can guess again. I'll let it go cheap but not for that price.
