So is it worth holding back the remap for a bit and getting a new turbo, if so what sort of price are they going to be.

i would hold out for a new turbo mate,

anything from £100 to £2000

i would go for a vf34 turbo which are good 330/340 bhp

i have a vf43 on mine which is running a safe 340 bhp

If your motor is a Import 96 it should have a TD05 on it now unless its a wagon? On a TD05 and your other mods should see 330ish.

depends what you want mate. how deep are your pockets. if you change to a TD05 16G, 18G or 20G or one of the MD series of blowers, even a nice VF series you will notice a difference. but this is when the rest of the car starts to let you down. if it was a simple matter of just bolting on a bigger turbo it would be great.

As for prices e-gay items you can have for a few hundred pounds (not recommended) to expensive garret gt series or MD321 at £1500-2550. as i said how much do you want to spend?

a TD05 16G will cope fine with that sort of power. the turbo isnt the full story though, you need to get the turbo mapped properly. make sure you get the right fitment too.

Is your car an Import? You need a 90 degree entry turbo, the one in the link may be ok you would need to check it, however there is also a chance its been converted to front entry in which case its not a direct bolt on with your set up.

No oil lines, actuator or coolant lines on the above one, you can pick them up complete cheap enough.

sorry mate i would avoid gay bay as well, but if your looking to pick one up for less than £100 quid your seriously going to compromise the car. they are £100 for a reason. a fully checked warrantied TD05 16G is about £500, a bit less if you do a swap.

90 degree normally around £150 delivered and FE are around £230 as i have to pay for the covers to be converted.

Im still miffed as to why your car has a TD04 on it if its a WRX saloon? Is it a UK car or JDM?
