Default Apexi Power FC questions

hi all been looking at the power fc for my type r, does this management control boost or do you have to use a seperate controller like the avcr? Also is there only certain places that will map it? Ive also been looking at ecutek but if there is a management that controls boost and everyhing else i would rather use that and the apexi looks a good bit of kit any advise please.
Cheers all

lol @ Golly

the Apexi controls the boost, as does ecutek remap of original ecu.

The commander allows you to select between different boost levels.

since they stopped making them no, I get the occasional secondhand one in but nothing at the moment sorry.

You need the specific powerfc for your year of car, it is on the 93~96 that require a boost sensor to go over 1.1bar

Does the AVCr have 2 boost settings to choose between (switchable) or is it that what the Power FC does? What happens if you just have the AVCr?

The avcr-r has 3 boost settings, off = actuator pressure + 2 other setting A and B. The avcr will be controlling the boost as standalone unit, whether you have the power fc or not.

could you just have the power fc to control the boost though or do you need both? Id rather save that bit more and buy the power fc if it does both this way the car could also be mapped too

not sure there is a setting on mine to control boost but you will need a boost kit for the ecu, not sure what it consists of though as i have the avcr to control my boost, 1 of the best controllers imo, if your looking for an apexi i have 1 for sale is has the commander with it, it is the 4 plug type though

If you have the optional boost control kit (3-port BCS/3bar MAP sensor) then, from the PFC's Commander, you can select any 1 of 4 boost target settings.

These will have invariably been set by the mapper to the minimum raw w/g spring pressure, plus the max mapped boost target. With the other 2 setting being equally spaced in between.
