Default Gift ideas?

Hey all,

so I am new and don't actually own a scooby myself, but want to get my old man a present for his. He as a hawkeye wrx and its completely std at the moment, he has been waiting for the warantee to run out before he does anything to it.

He is very old school in the sence that he is very sceptical about modding his car at all and will only do things that make sence to him, and is very much not one for mods that make things look better, but rather ones that serve a real purpose if you know what I mean.

Now as I have no idea on any of the mods out there for this car, I was hoping that some of you guys could point me in the right direction. I am looking at spending a max of 200 pounds, and it has to be something that can just get posted to me, rather than something that nees to be installed by a pro or mapping or anything like that. He is very capable of a diy job so something along those lines or something that a local garage could fit would be awesome.

Thanks
Rory

Dont know too much about the hawkeye but how about a front strut brace if it doesnt have one (carbon fibre) or a quickshifter - or a zerosports radiator panel of air splitter - maybe??

Sorry - what do you mean by top mounts bud?
A Dump Valve - will be pricey if you want one as GFB,s semi circ is one of the best but Im not saying too much or averyone on here will lynch me as a full recirc valve is best for the engine and the car already has one (also no real gains or improvement to be had by getting one) - there is one of these for sale on piston heads at the mo though if thats what you want to get.
You could consider a decent panel filter though - Cosworth make a good one.
You could have a look at just subaru, or scoobybits, or scoobyparts, or scoobyworld, or .... the list goes on. You'll prob find a cosworth filter on e-bay.
Jusat have a bit of a search about.

Hawkeye is the 2006-2008 model fella. Bugeyes were 2001-2003 and Blobeyes were 2003-2006 give or take a couple months cross over.

No offence to the other guy but don't buy a dump valve - whats the point. If your dad is old skool in his mods then something which is renound for being a little chav will probably not impress him

What about suspension mods? Does he like the occasional enthusiastic drive? Like a decent anti roll bar or uprated droplinks etc? A strut brace has been mentioned and is a good idea to stiffen the car up a little.

Interior? What about a good CD headunit or a decent SatNav system?

Droplinks which connect your ARB to the shocks http://scoobyparts.com/acatalog/WHIT...LINK_DEAL.html

And a strut brace for the engine bay... http://scoobyparts.com/acatalog/CARB..._NEW_AGE_.html

No need to thank me

Don't worry Andy, he won't.

Adjustable top mounts will cost a little more than £200, mate.

Some here

Why not ask your dad what he wants? Unless it's got to be a surprise.

You'll get a load of suggestions on here, if you had a firmer idea of what he's wanting out of his car.
