Default Bailey DV

Bought and fitted a new Bailey atmos. DV to my 06 2.5 WRX 800 miles ago. Since fitting, my fuel economy has gone down slightly and the car doesn't seem as 'pokey' (perhaps physcological?). Also, during the last 200 miles the DV has gone very quiet (clogged, needs cleaning perhaps?). The Vendor has agreed to take the unit back and give me a refund.

I'm aware that there's no performance increase using an atmos. DV compared to the original recirc. DV, but I like the sound... I would like to know if I'm likely to suffer the problems mentioned above if I were to fit a more expensive DV such as an HKS SQV? If so I will just stick with the original item.

Kind Regards

Jack

been there done that!, i have tried 3 options..

1. a Atmospheric DV (bailey one also)

2. DV delete (removing the dv altogether and blanking it off)

3. and of course standard recirc.

and in my opinion, standard recirc is the best option.

safest too

I've been there done that also:
1.std recirc
2.baileys - ebay sold
3.forge(better) - ebay sold
4blitz -still got it(adjustable,unlike the other 2)
5.recirc
6.blitz - back on with new spring for the summer)
I found erratic idling withthe first 2 dv's,car ran fine with original recirc on.Bought blitz off a scoobynet member and adjusted the spring as his car was running more boost than mine and had no running issues. Changed the spring last week(£6.00),and car idles and runs fine. I paid £40 for my blitz ,i would not shellout £200+ for a dv ,leave std one on and spend your money on something more beneficial ie: decat, panel filter, fuel pump imho

Yes Neil - get that serious wonga back. They truly are a waste of (not insubstantial) money - it's not as if they enhance the driving experience/add power or drivability, etc.

If you LOVE the noise, then fair enough... but THAT is pretty much all they 'offer'
