how fussy do you have to be when checking the oil?
hey, just noticed i get really fussy when checking the engine oil
i check it every week and it doesnt really move between oil changes, but i still check it like 3 times and then 1 of them 3 it wont be on full.. and it'll bug me and i'll check it some more..
also noticed if the road isnt entirely flat it also plays a huge effects on how much oil shows on the dipstick.
how much should you worry? mines never even been down to half.. but everytime i check and its a little under full i put a little more in..
the lowest its been is between half and full on a cold engine and it was due an oil change the following day, i still topped it up..
should i have? or would it have been ok?
am i just being all **** for no reason? should i only worry when its under halfway?
interesting to hear other peoples opinions as i find i still top up a little when its a tad under full, not even anything to worry about but i have a habit of adding a litle bit extra just in case.
bugs me now.
im going insane

What your doing is fine.
I do this nearly every other day. If its about halfway ish or more I leave it.
If its a little less I top it up..
Learn my lesson when the bearings went due to NO OIL.

i check mine every week and i too always keep it topped up to the max.
best to leave the dipstick out for a couple minutes before you dip.
also check level in morning when engine is stone cold.

I check mine every second day, its a classic and trying to get a proper reading on the dipstick is hard. Whats the newage like are they any easier to read. Ive had a few classics and they are all the same.
