Default fuel pump relay? maf? injectors? i just dont know

Hi i have a 1995 subaru impreza turbo uk model, right try and explain best i can, had the car 2 months always been a bit sluggish to start, after about 5 mins of driving car or leaving it idle, the fuel pump relay starts going nuts n clicking like mad and engine note drops but revs dont seem to alter much. after a few mins it calms down a little and doestn click so much, when you then try and pull off from a junction etc it will click and the car will struggle to pull away unless you up the revs, sounds a bit like its missing or running out of fuel, when you have driven the car for a while this become intermittent and does it when it pleases but not all time and can still do it after a 200 mile run, also when driving the car it can be boosting perfect but then the next minute when it comes on to full boost it sounds like it missing or run out of fuel and sometimes the rev counter drops to zero and seems like engine has cut out untill you dip clutch then it all comes back to life, but other times boost great and pull great, the coils packs have been changed and also fuel pump so im a bit lost of where to go from here dont want to be chasing this fault much longer so if any one has had similar problem or know what it could be you would be a star, thank you hope it all made sense lol

could be MAF, as for the clicking of the relay could be bad realy or ground, check the plug under the rear seat they can cause fuel pump problems too

The fact that your electrical system/ignition drops out and comes back sounds like an electrical wiring fault.

Start by checkingthe integrity of all lives and grounds in the engine bay and fusebox(es)

I have the same problem with my My99 UK and its superchipped, but it has been for all 3yrs of having it and its never missed a beat with it,

I have changed the MAF, and spark plugs, and coil pack, and alternator and oxgyen sensor and i have just ordered a new fuel pump, trying to find where the replay for the pump is, i know its under steering wheel, on the side, but not found it yet.

MOrning all,

Well the relay died last weekend, and had to replace with new, got subaru deliver one to me, and had chance to fit it last night,

well took it for a 30min drive, and it only cut fuel like twice, then drove great afterwards, and when left ticking over the car was sitting at 14v ish all the time where normaly it was dropping down to 12 and below,

Not had time this morning to see if the car would start again, but will see tonight when i get home, but i did notice that there is to much bloody oil in it, so will drain some out tomorrow morning, dont know how that has happend as ive not but any more in it, but cant say if the bloke who did my gearbox has.

Time will tell

as for chasing wire to immoblizer, am really crap at that and fault finding lol

i would check your fuel filter and fuel pump floater filter for dirt as due to old age it could rust clogging up or your fuel could be contaminated with water

If it won't start when warm it could be the temperature sender faulty. If it's this it will probably be running rich.
