please help me peeps, had my engine light has been on for a few days and now its started to flash the car still runs ok but seems to be very lumpy on tick over, the light comes on all the time mostly when the cars held at 80mph for some reason but normally goes out within a day. i know that the air filter needs cleaning and the petrol filter is probably over due. any other ideas or sudgestions that i could try to solve this annoying problem????????????

Dealer for a service and diagnostic?

Tony

PS, I wouldnt attempt to rag the car with the cel on, if you want to keep it out of the garage for any lengthy period of time and your bank balance healthy

Cheers tony, but really wanted to avoid the dealership as all the do is rip you off and to be honest they aint got a clue as they told me my gearbox has gone when in actual fact it was the engine making all the noise which lead to api for a rebuild not to long ago, but coventry is a long way to go for a service...... think i'm gonna put it up for sale now, motoring is suppost to be fun and the subaru has taken all the fun away! i'm sick of keep putting it into garages and being left with hefty bills at the end of it.

Dont sell it!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/043-OBDII-EOBD-Fault-Diagnostic-Scanner-Tool-CReader-V_W0QQitemZ200460016239QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Diagn ostic_Tools_Equipment?hash=item2eac591a6f

Can anyone confirm the OBD-II will work on a 2001 impreza? If so buy one of these and you can read the code and delete if needed.

Costs £50 at dealers so just buy one of these and save ££

Yes buy one of these and waste your money
Its a reader, it doesnt reset the ecu you need a dealer or a mapper with a laptop for that.

OP, post in the essex section to see where your best options are (mocom etc) for your area, there are a few speciallists who can help you out so not that bad
