Default Disapointing RR figures

I know RR figures aren't everything and it's how it drives on the road but I was a bit disapointed with my recent figures. I've recently had a fully forged 2.0 lt build. I've uprated, oil pump, fuel pump, injectors. I've got equal length headers, 3" system with sport cat, autobahn FMIC and a TD05-20g with simtek and I got 324 bhp and 270Nm at 1.4 bar. Does this sound about right? I'm trying to get to around the 400 bhp mark. Any ideas what I need next? MD321??? Thanks.

Is it a proper TD05 20G or one off ebay?
Are those figures at the fly or at the wheels???

Was it mapped to suit the new engine spec ?

My std. STI runs 1.7 bar....

Was that bhp at the wheels ?

something doesnt sound right the car in question is an sti or wrx? if yo made 324 out of that turbo at 1.4 bar you aint getting 400 from it at 1.65 or 1.7 even. there must be a reason why its only been mapped to 1.4 bar. a genuine 20G will break your standard box and clutch maybe thats why its mapped on low boost.

dont take this the wrong way my vf 22 made near 330bhp and thats a standard turbo. who mapped your car?

My car is a v3 sti. The boost is set low because I am still on the original 5 speed but still expected a bit more. Car was mapped by Dave Rowe, unfortunately I wasn't there at the time. TD05 was on the car when I bought it so could be a cheap eBay version? Would the autobahn be holding it back, would I notice a difference if I swapped to a hybrid FMIC? Thanks

I'd ask your mapper why it got such a low figure really...

Then check the Turbo - a 20g will not be making that power - its way too low.
Heck a 16g with that sort of engine and mapping would make slightly more then that.

Your gearbox should be able to withstand more power then that as well.

when i got near 330bhp i had the autobahn im now running an s206 turbo still with an autobahn, the hybrid is much superior and is a much better quality kit however if i made near 330 with vf22 and autobahn then i doubt the fmic is causing the much of a restriction. what did you david say? he will know best as he has mapped your car.

Car was mapped on the road. I just took it to a dyno just out of curiosity. I guess I need it mapped on a RR to see what is going on. How can I tell if I have a crap Chinese TD05?Are there any markings I can look for?

So basically it's mapped safe to make the gearbox last....

You can choose to have more performance so long as you accept that your gearbox will fail in the future at some point...

have you got the graph to look at the afr they might be something else wrong with the car. i had an issue with my timing belt where a teeth was messing when we put it back on the same dyno a month later it barely made 280.

I'm planning on a 6 speed anyway. Just thought i'd make more power at 1.4 bar!

Butty, the turbo was already on it I don't know where it came from!

a picture of the bay should make it relatively straight forward to work out if its a 16g or 20g, just by the size of the compressor cover...any pics?

You need to sign up to a image hosting site such as Photobucket (one of the best). Then you use their facilities to upload your pics to it. Then you can copy and paste the image contained between notation, and the pic appears embedded in the post...

It does have the 20g's (and 18g's for that matter) slight "dip" where the comp. snail goes into the comp. spout. But we'd need to see more of it TBH - if possible....
