turbo on 1995 turbo 2000
hi everyone
i have subaru impreza turbo 2000 1995. could anyone tell me what is my standand turbo on that model and what turbo could i upgrade to. i think my turbo is going because there is white smoke coming out of it, but do not know if its oil burnin, or is it that i need to replace exhaust gasket. but also i recently cleaned my intercooler and inside it was black, then few days after i checked my intercooler again and it woz dirty again but not as much. i been told to check my oil levels constantly because if turbo is going it will suck oil up. also i have been lookin at turbo repair kit, is it worth it?? thanks a lot
ps. this side is mint, its good to know other peoples experience with their Sooby doos and get help.

All UK 93-96 "phase 1" Turbo 2000's have a TD05H 16g. Good for around 340bhp when mapped with appropriate supporting mods. But the small TMIC and 380cc injectors would limit to around <280bhp (unless changed/mapped, etc. obviously...)

It's a wicked turbo and makes a very quick road car when above 300bhp. I'm running 335, and it's great. Anything more than this and it gets very expensive on a classic!
The breathers can push a little oil into the inlet system, causing the oil build up in your tmic, but as said, keep an eye on your oil level. The white smoke sounds more like water than oil, you could have a weeping water line on the turbo? If it were oil smoke, you'd know from the smell.
