I had mine done at engine tuner drive in drive out mapped one stop place worked out so well that I might just do it again

or you can get parts from mark at lateral

it all depends on how far you want to go if your thinking around 400 then pistons and rods from a newage you might want to change your heads to sti heads as the flow better to ver 3/4/5 ect. It all depnds on how deep your pocket is and what you plan on doing with the car

If youve got deep pockets go for cosworth stuff and billet crank, but it will cost you....

dude if you want a 2.1 just get engine tuner to build it as he does it all in house and if you buy parts seperatly then you get no come back if parts go wrong where as if the garage who build it do the spec as well then if it goes wrong they have to deal with all issue even parst failure, give engine tuner a ring you cant go wrong there

also if you have a spare 500 pound on top of that get some version four sti heads but then you heads will be fine upto or neer the 400 bhp mark and 350 wil be fine oh and the 93 wrx i think is a closed deck block which will be a lovey witha 2.1 stroker

As above,, see engine tuner. I thought that when you were doing a build with forged internals that you were doing a big build. I would imagine a good sti engine would do 350 bhp anyway...

drive in drive out at engine tuner sounds like you best solution, but 350hp is achievable in other ways

TBH i would look at crashed newage sti's, say a hawkeye JDM and see how much it would cost for the complete engine and 6 speed box and go from there

s

I assume it would fit???? anyone ?

if your planning a big power build in the furture then it might be worth dropping some sti heads on there as they flow better and will give a wider power band. at 350 you might require uprated clutch injectors some ported headers, induction kit, fpr, wlbrou you could get away with 2.5 inch s/s. but again it all depends on what you want to do with the car. one thing i will stress you will get bored of 350bhp and your going to want 400 and once you reace 400 your going to want 500 and before you know it your a power junky.

i tell you what call alan or martyn on 01752-345880 and discuss your plans with them they will be able to qoute you depending on your spec.

if you just want the parts then speak to mark at lateral (0)1923 238477 and i believe he also provides built short blocks.

it depends what you find easier for me i called up alan and martyn sent my car there collected it 4 weeks later mapped and ready to go. they put in a built 2.5, simtek and s206 it was drive in drive out it worked out wel for me and well within budget no issues at all, and everything was done in house. so all i had to worry about is sending my car there and collecting it.

good luck what ever you do mate

Be aware that if you're putting version 3 or later STI heads onto a version 1 car, its a pain in the **** due to the number of things you need to change to get them to work together.

I believe STI 2 heads would be far easier to link up to the ancillaries on your car.

But in any case, wont WRX heads cope with 400 bhp? I'd be interested to know that incase I find myself in the same position in future.
