Default Classic WRX engine into a UK MY99

For future reference will a full import engine turbo included, say, (L) (M) (N) reg go in a UK classic MY99 without too many mods or alterations.

No, it won't fit - Your existing inlet manifold won't bolt up to the early cylinder heads.

Any 99/00 or 2001 onwards WRX motor will fit with all your anciliaries, However the 2001 on WRX heads have physically smaller inlet ports, so will probably require an ecu remap to get it to run optimally.

For what it’s worth imo you don’t really want to be pulling an engine and replacing with one that is 15-16 years old in any case. You can find good short engines 99 onwards low mileage reasonable prices.
