failed emissions
Took the car for an mot today and among other things it failed the emissions test. I don't have the full printout but CO was 2.6%. Unfortunately last time I had a friendly mot guy but he has moved on so I have to get it sorted.
I'm going to replace the downpipe and O2 sensor as they look like they are the original ones!
It's a 93 import saloon and I can't find online the sensor as it only has 2 long wires in a braided sheath and a round connector, without measuring it the wire is about 2.5 feet long as it goes to a connector under the brake reservoir.
Does this sound like the original O2 sensor? anyone have one like it?
Also where can i get one?
Thanks in advance.

that is the `cat on fire` sensor not the o2 sensor your o2 sensor is in the exhaust manifold on the drivers side and plugs into a connector on tha drivers side wing. could be either the cat or o2 that has failed causing the high emissions( that is assuming it hasnt been decatted).
edit:just noticed your in denmark so is your car lhd? if so the above will be on the passenger side! haha

ahh that helps lol. That'll teach me for just assuming, It's not decatted as the downpipe has a big box in the vertical part and has loads of heat shielding attached to it all the way to the rear section, so I could be wrong again but I think it's the original downpipe.

Pain in the *** isnt it. I bet the car drives fine aswell. ive just had to shell out £100 on a new cat for my trusty rusty runabout corsa which I really begrudged because the cars only worth £250! and the cheeky bastid charged me £10 to retest because I fitted it myself!

Widdows, it's rhd as I brought it with me to Denmark when I moved here 2 years ago.
The Hitler that mot'd it even said I had to prove that the momo steering wheel is TUV approved or he'd fail it on that too! All momo products have been tuv approved since 1970 I read earlier.
