Yeah I've got 2 x VF28's to rebuild but nobody seems to be able to get parts.

Best offer I have had it to cobble together one good one with two tired turbos .

I'm very interested if anyone has anything else to say.....I'm tempted to swap to a TD05 because of it.

Right, i've given owen develpoments a call- they are on a break! how dare they! hehe. Hopefully someone will ring me back with a yes on the rebuild! Looked at the turbo last night and it seems pretty good- think if owen don't give me a result i'm just going to bang it on and see what happens!
Incidentally, anyone know what 90 degree hose i'll need to fit an sti intercooler y pipe to this turbo????

You will be lucky if owen rebuild the VF turbos, i could be wrong but the parts are just not available. All VF series turbos are Ball bearing.

I dont quite understand your last question posted above, the Y pipe? The TMIC with pipes from a WRX or Sti will fit straight onto this turbo. What year car are you going to put it on?

Sorry for the vague info bud. Its a newage STI tmic i got off ebay- it has the metal section but no elbow that would connect it to the turbo. My car is a 2002wrx, i'm fitting a vf35 (hopefully!) and wasn't sure whether the current elbow on my existing standard (which mates onto the standard td-04) wrx tmic would go onto both the STI tmic and the vf35? Or should i just get a samco one or something??
Hope thats i bit more help!

Try these people they do overhaul IHI turbos as they just overhauled a VF48 for me, they are IHI agents so they can get hold of the spare parts as well.

racing turbos, turbocharger repair, turbocharger recondition, ball bearing turbos, hybrid turbos, roller bearing turbocharger, racing turbos, turbonetics, blow off valve

The VF35 is not a ball bearing turbo, it's a sleeve bearing turbo.

I know what you're saying and I agree.

Wouldn't get poor service from RCM!

You do have to remember their customers are probably spending £10k a shot, making your £500 for a standard turbo rebuild kinda lame....
