Default TURBO SPOOL UP

HI , I WONDER IF ANY 1 COULD HELP ME WITH MY 2002 WRX, IVE JUST HAD A MASSIVE ENGINE REBUILD COS OF BIG END BEARRING, SO LIST OF UPGRADE 1ST, NEW CRANK, ACL BEARRINGS, STEEL CON RODS, FORDGED PISTONS, 2008 WRX STI OIL PUMP, INTERCOOLER, FULL EXHUST SYSTEM 3", AND A TD05 20G TURBO.

THE PROBLEM I AM GETTING IS THERE IS NO POWER IN 1ST GEAR, 2ND GEAR CAR RELISE'S THERE IS A TURBO @ 5,800 RPM, 3RD GEAR 5,500 RPM CAR JUST THROWS ME IN THE BACK OF THE SEAT GETS 16PSI OF BOOST, 4TH GEAR TAKES IT TO ANOTHER LEVEL @ 5,000RPM GETTING 21 PSI OF BOOST, THEN MANGEMENT LIGHT COMES ON, IF I KEEP PEDAL TO METAL ON 4TH AROUND 125MPH THE ECU CUTS ALL POWER.

ANY IDEA ON HOW TO GET BOOST A LITTLE EARLYER.?

Have you had it remapped?

Sounds like you're hitting boost/fuel cut.

Spool can be improved with correct ported headers and matched up-pipe. You also need to get it remapped, and your gearbox will be on borrowed time assuming it's a std 5 speed.

I'd contact Duncan at Dynamics. He remapped my car earlier today and totally transformed it. Don't drive the car as it is as another ruined engine would be hard to bear. All the best, Mike

Getting your ecu remapped will completly transform your car!
With the bigger turbo fitted the ecu still thinks its the standard on and so is controlling the fueling, air flow, ignition etc for that!
Talk to Jollygreenmonster on this forum and you wont go wrong!

As someone has already said though dont drive it, or if you have to dont drive it hard!

Simon .. aka JollyGreenMonster .. is relatively near you, travels to you and is one of the best Subaru mappers around ... www.jollygreenmonster.co.uk ... from what I've just read .. you are running a very high risk of a blow up sometime very soon .... I strongly suggest you contact him asap ...... or Mocom Racing .. who I believe also have a good reputation too ... Mocom Racing - Performance car and trackday products

£2 per mile for a re-build, 30 p per mile for a re-map ?

You choose.

Exactly as two last posts and more.
Either you have the money saved for another rebuild or you pay for a remap PDQ.
Until then drive gently and hope you have not done serious damage.
Who built your engine???
Did they nnot advise you that if you change your intercooler the least you need is to have your AFRs checked right across the running range and fitting a 20G without a remap???????????????????
You are exceptionally lucky to have done 2,000 mls on this engine as many others have commented already.

I wonder what kind of garage would build your car fit a front mount and 20g turbo and not map your car? Where did the 20g come from?

Dude get your car mapped asap even better take it to a proper garage to give it the once over and stop giving it the beans other wise your going to another rebuild. You have been warned?

you might think the car is running good, but as it's not been mapped for your new mods it will be running crap.
I would not even go to 3.5k revs as you will still have some boost, 2k 2.5k tops.

You have no idea how good or otherwise it's running, unless you've got, at very least, a logging wideband lambda sensor and a good knock monitor installed.

It might feel fine from behind the wheel but, to add another post to the weight of opinion, you're fepping lucky not to have blown it up already, and may, if you're unlucky, already have started to damage the engine internally.

Get it looked at ASAP.
