Default how much petrol?

car been sitting in the drive since i got it as it needs a new timing belt
so took it thru tonight to my sisters as she lives 30 secs from the garage that are doing it
so the car was on the petrol light so i put 20 liters in it (£23 ish) dont ask why lol and it only went to quarter of a tank? how big are the tanks? i normally keep my cars filled right up but as its only going to the garage just put 20 in but i thot it would go up more thanks that?

Default Petrol tank

My MY99 UK turbo has a 60 litre tank and the light comes on with approx 10 litre remaining.

You'll probably find the gauge won't be 100% linear either, so fire in 30 litres to an empty tank and the gauge may not read half full.
