Default TMIC change...need remap?

My car is a classic impreza UK mod 99, if a change the OEM top mount intercooler with an sti version 5/6 top mount intercooler (I think these intercoolers have very slight differences) then do you think that the car needs a remap?
Thanks
Nick

Provided the engine and all its sensors are otherwise in good nick this swap should be fine without a remap - ironically because there isn't much difference between the UK specification and STi5/6 IC.

TBH you'd probably get better value from a newage WRX intercooler and dumpvalve. Likely cheaper to buy and cooler charge temps, and a newer DV into the bargain.

If the car's running standard mapping though, there's not a huge amount of point changing as the standard 99-00 IC copes with what the turbo puts through it.
