Default another oil question

hey guys, i'm currently using 10/40 fully synthetic in my tuned scooby, i was wondering about using 15/40? only to try and quieten the piston slap on idle!!
anyone running 15/40??

is that only at cold or all the time

the piston slap is pretty much all the time, only up to about 2000rpm, it does stop after i give it a good thrashing, but only for 5 minutes.

I think that a thicker oil will not help that slap.
