Default manual boost controller plumbing???

Hi
my local tuning garage installed an Apexi ECU recently and a manual boost controller as the boost solenoid was playing up...
all the quantatative data they gave me is good and backed up by the readings given to me on the hand controller, however today i noticed i was not getting a reading for boost. turns out the vac hose running from the top port of my (2 port) boost solenoid to the intake manafold had poped off. put it back on, sorted.

However at the same time i noticed the vac hose connected to the bottom port of the 2port boost solenoid has no where to go and is just dangeling thee! it used to connect to the Tpiece that connected the compressor housing, wastegate actuator and boost solenoid but the manual controller hasd taken the T's place and only has 2 connections(wastegate+compressor housing)

Car runs and boosts fine (well sometimes hunts quite a bit when cold on idle), i'm just wondering if that now (i assume!) redundant hose should be blanked off or am i missing where it sould go??

sorry its long winded, just want to get all the facts accross. car is a my97 wrx wagon with a VF23

cheers!
Ash

just leave it there. If it hunting when on idle it.ll be something else other then vac pipe from solenoid.

you have fitted the manual boost controller?
all they do is cause problems the way they work is simple bleed some of the boost the actuctor sees so lets you have a bit more boost very dangerous imo id take it off and get either 3 port or go electronic boost controller

mbc's work well with a map , also make sure the mbc's a decent make/model , u can get a 3 port mbc which is what i had last , they work the same as the t-piece with the restrictor pill aparts from the fact that u can change the boost level when going for different maps etc

mbc's can esentially replace the the restrictor pill but still using the factory bcs and line setup

thank you guys.
yes john, the mbc was fitted at the same time map and the map is adjusted around it so it peforms fine. i hear what you are saying about a 3 port mbc. i will trebbel check it is a just a 2 port mbc and i'm assuming that redundant hose can just be left be.
I intend to go to a electronic boost controller in the coming months so i can bring on the boost earlier (the turbo hit is lovely and old skool at the moment!!) and more importantly hold the boost all the way to the redline.
cheers :-)

you are probably right, but my boost curve shows a peak at 19psi and 4000rpm then tails off by 4200rpm declining steadily to 13psi at 7000rpm. Car continues to make power all the way to the limiter however, so if i can keep that boost a bit more soild i should see some good strong gains from 4000rpm to the red line The guys didn't thrash out the map to within an inch of its life so i still have some injector duty in hand

but at the end of the day.... its more dough i'll leave it as is and enjoy the car untill a good 2nd hand EBC come along
