Default Power FC expert needed?

Hi,

My car had been running fine and then this morning when I started it it cut straight out. I can keep it running using the accelerator, when its moving there seems little wrong with it. However dont really wanna drive it in case the fuelling is out.

Does this sound like a MAF issue? I wondered if there was a way to check the MAF through a Power FC commander?

The car is a V4 Type R with 2.5 conversion.

Any help would be great!
Ta

You can check the MAF voltage through the Settings menu on the commander - on a 2.0 ltr should be approx 0.85/0.9 volts - with the motor warm idling, maybe very slightly more on a 2.5

From the commander's ETC menu goto Sensors/Switches option - If there are any sensors 'out of range' they will be highlighted in black.

Are all the intercooler pipes on?
Possible ISCV valve sticking/faulty?

Thanks mate,

Obviously I cant get the car to idle normally so I held it at 800-900rpm with the throttle and the MAF reads about 1050mv.

This seems to tie in with what you are saying and seems to rule out the MAF?

I am at work atm so cant really check IC pipes and ICV. Might have to do that tonight in the dark and cold!

Whilst holding the car at approx 1000 rpm you could also check the 02 sensor voltage output on the sensors/switched screen - should be cycling between 0 -1v when warmed up.

From the ETC -> Function Select menu, try turning the Lambda Sensor Control off to see if it makes any difference to how the car runs.

Right car is between those values what ever option the O2 sensor is set to. I am guessing if this was dead it would read no voltage?

I changed the O2 option and cant remember which one it was on!! Can you tell me if it should be button up or down? I cant read japanese!

The Jap symbol should be the same as whatever the Knock Warn is set to, as this is turned on in 99% of cases

Cool. Was right but wanted to check.

I guess the ICV is my next check after work.

Thanks for your help.

Right I have looked at the ICV. I am not too sure how they work.

When I remove the cover the spindle turns about a quarter and does not spring back or anything. I am not sure this is right, Can someone tell me if it should return to a set position? Do I have a broken spring or something?

On the top of the spindle is a magnet - The cap contains a coil which is energised to make it move.

AFAIK - the ISCV spindle is not sprung - but it's been a while since i had one apart

Worth checking cam/crank sensors, as the PFC is quite fussy about them (unlike the OE ecu) Although these are more likely to show a problem at high rpm

What's the target idle RPM ?

Will it tickover with the A/C turned on? - Normally this is set to 100(ish) rpm higher

The idle RPM on the PFC is set to 840-880. Have tried increasing this but it still dies.

I am running out of ideas!! Will check more of the pipework tomorrow. Had a quick look tonight but can see nothing wrong.
