Stop being a wuss. Pull the old one OUT of it's holder by un-bending the wire "legs" of the bulb, put the new one back in as a reverse of the above, snip off excess "leg"

Easy........takes less than a minute with a pair of tweezers.

The legs I refer to are threaded through the plastic bulbholder, then bent upwards and passed through again, IIRC, finally snipped off.

You wuss

The LED legs are not as bendy, and would probably just snap. I posted that link to see if they were the type you need, because maplins also do it without a colour, which you can still use, as the heater controls have their own filter: Wire Terminal Type : Small Bulbs & Lamps : Maplin

Or order from Maplins online. Surely they aren't out of stock throughout the whole UK?

The out of stock part is on the website, but only on the green and yellow ones. Thought it was a bit strange myself.

Just replaced my heated rear screen switch lamps on my 98 classic with these:-
RS | Relays, Switches and Indicators | Indicators | Neon and Filament Lamps | Wire-Ended & Bi-Pin
That is if you have the abllity to purchase from RS, only 44p each!
