Default Strange smell from heater

noticed recently a strange smell coming from heater when on hot. Theres no water coming and coolant dont seem to be going down. Can smell it on the outside of car aswell. Any 1 got an idea on what it could be?

If it's got a pollen filter fitted, then change it

could be small leak on power steering pump drip drip onto the headers, i had this not a nice smell

Describe the smell i.e, oil, coolant, exhaust fumes, petrol etc ?

could be a fly thats hibernating in your heater system over winter,then evertime you turn it on it wakes him up so he lets one rip so that you will turn it off.
