Default Anyone with a PSI3 data unit?

After reading the post on remaps in this section I am thinking about getting my Impreza done in the new year...

I currently have a PSI 3 data unit connected in my car and when you switch the ignition on it displays Ecutek then Subaru and a serial number of the cars ecu (I guess)

Does this mean my car has had a Ecutek programme before or is it something to do with the PSI 3 unit and Ecutek?

any advice gratefully received..

thanks

Andy

It was developed with ECUTek, mine said that and I don't have an ECUTek license on my current ECU.
